Program Description:

Today's business environment often places a unique challenge on managers to obtain peak performance from employees who work at different locations — from the office down the road to tele-commuting to the other side of the globe. Managing: Out of Range provides practical tools to help managers bridge the gap created by geographical separation and supply the necessary coaching and direction to employees when face-to-face meetings are few and far between. During this program, participants will:

• Examine and refine the traditional management techniques in light of the complexity of being geographically distant, different cultural approaches, working across time zones and various reporting relationships
• Learn how to stay connected by effectively using technology — email, video and telephone conferencing, the telephone, and web conferencing
• Discover how to build trust and overcome the isolation of virtual and remote teams
• Apply tools to motivate, communicate, monitor performance, and align and empower your employees
