Program Description:

Setting Performance Objectives will help participants establish clear expectations and measures for objectives developed for their employees. In order to achieve company goals and strategies, managers must effectively balance both organizational and individual needs. This workshop focuses on the both the "art" and "science" of the objective setting process:

  • The "science" aspect of this process is developing objectives that meet certain SMART criteria. Using SMART criteria ensures objectives are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
  • The "art" aspect of setting performance objectives focuses on the discussion and communication process that helps the manager be both firm about the performance expected and open to the employee's ideas and views.

This workshop will help you to:

  • Link organizational goals to the individual employee's goals and objectives
  • Ensure clarity and understanding by using SMART criteria
  • Obtain employee commitment to these objectives through the communication process
